Le projet a consisté à aménager une grande pièce de vie, une salle de bain et un rangement en rez-de-chaussée, et deux chambres en étage dans une grange. Il vient dans la continuité des travaux effectués sur le même bâtiment en 2006.
Afin de laisser la part belle au séjour, les autres pièces ont été installées à l’extrémité de la grange, permettant d’obtenir un grand volume en double hauteur. Un ensemble menuisé aluminium laqué, installé en remplacement de la porte en bois de la grange en façade Est, apporte une lumière douce à l’espace. La nouvelle menuiserie s’intègre naturellement à la façade ancienne en pisé et pierre en reprenant la couleur brun foncé de l’ancienne porte.
La ferme de charpente existante a été laissée apparente, sablée et lasurée pour devenir un élément structurant du séjour. Un escalier bois et métal, dessiné en collaboration avec l’artisan qui l’a fabriqué, apporte une touche contemporaine au projet, tout en reprenant les codes de couleur (le laquage brun foncé du métal) et de matériaux (les marches bois) du bâtiment.
